online storage problem w/ norton?
Britt asked:
so today when i came home, my norton indicator said my computer was at risk because ive run out of online storage. i got this computer almost a month ago and i recently installed norton a few weeks ago. i have 462 gigs left on my computer so i dont know how this would be a problem. it keeps taking me to the norton site to buy backup but i dont need any. what do i do?

Online backup is just that….backups of your important files that are kept offline, not in the 462 GB that you still have available on your machines hard drive.
These are kept by Norton on there servers so that in case your computer or your computer’s hard drive fails, you do not lose everything.
It is up to you to decide if your data is important enough to pay extra to keep a second copy safe and secure off-site. tempo1
Online storage has nothing to do with your hard drive. I just have a hard time understanding how users can install a program and then not learn anything about it. Backup programs always need help from the user. So when you first install Norton you had to have set up online backup. Now it’s full. Norton wants you to buy more space for backups. I have no idea what you are backing up or why you have used all your space. Just open Norton up, go into setting and find the backup part of Norton and turn it off. Ed G
