If anyone has ever used one of those PODS that you load up with your stuff and then they either can store it for you or move it to your new home, how much did you spend on that. I see they have a website but I don’t want to fill out the form. Just an estimate. Thanks

It’s expensive. i did fill out a form once and although I don’t recall the rental price..I THINK it was $200 a month

One place we checked out charged $99. to bring the thing to you, $99. to bring it from your house to the storage unit, the monthly storage charge wasn’t too bad, but then you had to pay AGAIN to have the stuff moved to your new place - it is pretty pricey when all is said and done. You’re paying for the convenience factor, I guess.

There is a product that competes with them called Units. You can look them up at storage.com. The rental fees vary depending on the size of the thing, the time frame that you will need it and such.

I am looking at a chart and it looks like the least it will cost would be slightly under $300 for delivery to your house of a 12 foot unit and moved to your new house (as long as you don’t use it for more than a month). This includes the tax that you pay around here. It would be slightly over $300 for a 16 foot unit.

If you ask them to store the thing for a few months for you there is an additional cost.

I recently hired a rental moving truck that was about that size and it was also expensive. You just figure out what works best for you.

You may want to consider Door to Door ( http://www.doortodoor.com ). Their service is the same as PODS, but their containers are smaller, so you only pay for the space that you need. For staging a home, you probably only need one Door to Door container. When the container is smaller, the storage/moving cost is less, and it will actually fit by your house! Most pods containers are too large to fit on the street.
It totally depends on where you live, if you need a permit, etc how much it will cost. The form is easy to fill out online- to find out. Just don’t use your real phone number :)

My sister just used one. Total for everything (including leaving it at her old house for 1 week & 2 moves) came out to a little over $400.00. This was for a small unit.

It depends on what you need. If you just need local storage, it probably comparable to other self storage options when you consider the truck rental and gas.

If you’re doing a long distance move, it could vary dramatically depending on where you’re moving between and how much you need to move.

You can also research other options at the Mobile Self Storage Association’s website (ms-sa.org). They list different companies who have similar services all across the country. (e.g. I work at a Philadelphia Mobile Storage company)

    Good luck

The cost would depend on the size of the pods that your shipment requires and the length of time you need it stored. There are several companies that offer this service. For free quotes you can either submit a request online or call them directly:
    Good luck with your move!
