I am looking for a home for an Excel XLS (less than 1 MB) that I need to access and update regularly - either from my home or work PC.

Google Docs doesn’t have the functionality that I’d like, so I’d like to stay in Excel.

questionmarkinthedark asked:

Having a Network Attached Storage (NAS) Hard Drive on my home network sounds like a great way for my family to be able to automatically back up all of our computers and share data. One I’m looking at even let’s you access the data remotely through the internet. I feel relatively safe about my computers because I have firewall software running; but how do you protect a NAS drive from intruders? Are there router settings that can help protect it? If so, please be specific. Or if this is not a security concern, why not?

I want to back up my data regularly from my home computer. The files would be zipped and uploaded to an external host by a script (written by me) with FTP.

I know there are pay services which offer such services, but before spending my money I’d like to know if by chance there is a site on the net which offer this for free.

Thanks in advance.

I’m looking for free secure online storage for important files and backup?

I’m looking for free secure online storage for important files and backup. It must be secure though! Ideally, Yahoo Google etc - do they offer this?
Its more than just documents. Its things like backing up private emails and address books, passwords, etc so I don’t want to take a chance either on forgetting to make it private. I want it to be always private and nothing else
Yahoo briefcase looked to be a good option but when I signed onto it it said ‘Briefcase will be closing on March 30, 2009.
You must download or delete your files before this date.’ This is therefore no good to me
Actually, Windows Live Skydrive looks pretty good and I’m going to give it a go; thanks!

For a while now, the Norton 360 antivirus program is telling me that I need more online storage.

“You have fully used your online storage. Please add more storage.”

How can I get more storage without buying it?

What is the best free online storage out there?

A asked:

xdrive (which is run/owned by AOL i think) - seems to be ok but will create an aol e-mail account when opening an xdrive account. i do not need another e-mail account, just an xdrive account. I need the free online storage to keep all my files that I usually store on my PC but I think it’s safer to have it stored online and be accessible anywhere not just my PC.

any other good ones out there?
